Donald Margulies' Time Stands Still Sets Dates for L.A. Debut

Playwright Donald Margulies' newest play, the newly retitled Time Stands Still, will make its world premiere beginning February 11, 2009, at L.A.'s Geffen Playhouse. Longtime Margulies collaborator Daniel Sullivan will direct the production, which is set to run through March 15. Casting will be announced at a later date.

Originally titled The Elephant in the Room, Time Stands Still was commissioned by the Geffen and revolves around a journalistic team and longtime couple affected by shifting perspectives.

The play was moved off the theater's 2007-2008 schedule in order to allow Sullivan, who has spent this season as acting artistic director at Manhattan Theatre Club, to direct. Sullivan previously guided productions of Margulies' Dinner with Friends winner of the 2000 Pulitzer Prize, Brooklyn Boy and Sight Unseen.
